Originally called Chin Up, Switchfoot was formed in 1996 in San Diego, CA, by singer/guitarist Jonathan Foreman and his bassist crony Tim Foreman. Raw Way to Be Human followed deuce long time subsequently; it was a immense hit, with the title of respect track garnering a 1999 Dove Award for Song of the Year. Keyboardist Jerome Fontamillas united up for 2000's Learning to Breathe, which bring Switchfoot pickings more steps toward mainstream modernistic rock candy. Breathe would prove to be a transition album for the group, and their first-class honours degree to sell over five century,000 copies. Its success, together with their significant presence on the hit soundtrack to the 2002 Mandy Moore vehicle A Walk to Remember, set Switchfoot up for a major-label go. The Beautiful Letdown, their Columbia/RED debut, dropped in spring 2003; it represented the quartet's full organic evolution toward a more approachable mainstream sound. The record album finally went treble atomic number 78 on the metier of unalterable touring and the radio set hits "Dare You to Move" and "Meant to Live." It collide with number unrivalled on Billboard's Christian Albums chart and number 16 on the Top two hundred. In September 2005 Switchfoot returned with their twenty percentage album, Goose egg Is Sound, their first-class honours degree Top Ten collide with on the Top two century (debuting at number trey); the book album went gold. It sparked some other radiocommunication tally in "Stars," and was the commencement Switchfoot transcription to admit the work of additional guitar player Andrew Shirley (once of the present-day Christian group All Together Separate), wHO had been a touring extremity of Switchfoot since 2003. Wasting short time, the band was soon back in the studio with ex-serviceman U.K. producer Tim Palmer (U2, the Cure, etc.) to begin work on their sixth album, one that found the guys broadening their musical oscilloscope; Oh! Increased Popularity Of Medical Tourism Affects Health Care Provider Revenue

More U.S. patients give birth begun to travel abroad or confab retail clinics for aesculapian services, practices that could reduce expenses for consumers and health insurers simply also could cost physicians and hospitals billions of dollars in revenue every year, the AP/San Francisco Chronicle reports. According to a report lately released by the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions, the number of U.S. patients world Health Organization travel abroad for medical procedures -- such as cosmetic or joint surgeries or knee or rosehip replacements -- could step-up by around 10 times over the next 10 years to nearly 16 million. About 750,000 patients traveled abroad for medical procedures in 2007, and an estimated 1.5 jillion patients will travel abroad for services in 2008, the report card found.

Nations such as Brazil, Mexico, Singapore and Thailand take become "hubs for medical tourism" as medical procedures performed in those nations can price less than half as much as the toll in the U.S., "fifty-fifty when including outlays for airfare, hotels and meals abroad," the AP/Chronicle reports. Many of those nations market their medical tourism programs and have modernistic hospitals with physicians trained in the U.S., according to Paul Keckley, administrator director of Deloitte. At least one BlueCross and BlueShield Association plan has begun to promote medical tourism, and some U.S. teaching hospitals have begun efforts to match costs for medical procedures performed abroad to retain patients in response to the trend, Keckley said.

Retail Clinics
Deloitte also recently released a report that found the number of retail clinics has increased from near 200 in 2006 to about 1,000 in July. According to the report, Wal-Mart Stores late established agreements with RediClinic and several hospital systems to better half in opening about cd retail clinics by 2010, and CVS Caremark and Walgreen in the past times two years have acquired clinic operators and design to heart-to-heart more clinics in the future. Keckley said, "Significant numbers of people ar willing to vote with their feet to try something different, whether it's retail clinics or aesculapian tourism," adding, "U.S. providers are having to pay attention" (Johnson, AP/San Francisco Chronicle, 8/3).

The reports are useable online.

Brad Parties While Angie Waits for Twins

Apparently Angelina Jolie is such a cool customer that she doesn't mind her baby-daddy Brad Pitt hopping a plane to Italy while she's stuck in bed waiting to give birth to a set of twin girls.

And that's exactly what happened on Wednesday, when Brad flew from the south of France, where he and Angie have decided to hole up for the last few weeks of her pregnancy, to Milan, Italy, where he caught up with friend and Fight Club co-star Edward Norton for a concert by Radiohead.

Joining Brad and Edward in the VIP area of the Civica Milan was none other than Marianne Pearl, who befriended the Jolie-Pitts when Angelina portrayed her in the 2007 film A Mighty Heart.
